FOR BIOS ONLY

Purpose:

Preparing and make installation WineXP into HDD ex-Linux

Step on Linux

  • Attach HDD ex-Linux to Computer with Linux system
  • I am using Slitaz GNU/Linux on this case for preparing that HDD
  • Back up first content of that HDD if needed
  • Run GParted application
  • Delete first part partition or whole partition of that HDD to make first partition or all volume unallocated
  • If no error during process, HDD is in healthy condition
  • exit from Linux

Step on WineXP

  • Attach HDD ex-Linux after process above to computer with WineXP system
  • Go toControl Panel >Administrative Tools >Disk Management
  • Make partition on the HDD ex-Linux with specification:NTFS,Quick Format
  • To minimalize error during installation, delete again that partition and repeat process to make partition on the HDD

Step on Installing

  • Still in WineXP system, insert CD/DVD installer WineXP bootable on CD/DVD drive
  • Reboot WineXP
  • Move quick to access BIOS system and change boot priority to CD/DVD ROM
  • Installation WineXP will running automatically
  • If still get error during installation, try to attach another HDD with WineXP installed as slave and repeat again installation process.
Note: I spent about nine hours to get WineXP installation working properly, and I had been try several step but lead to some error during installation.
